I want to do this as a Donor, who do I talk to about Donorbees payroll giving?

Isn't payroll giving lots of work for payroll teams?

Traditional payroll giving meant that payroll teams had to manage lists of charities as well as employees changing their minds on the charities they wanted to donate to. With Donorbees, you only have to set up one charity - Donor Bees Trust and then employees use the Donor Bees app to decide when, how much and who to. So payroll administration is limited to only setting up the payroll giving deduction once for each employee.

How do I know the money makes it to the charities?

We are a registered charity ourselves and we are governed by a board of trustees who provide oversight to our work and policies for us to abide by. We pay donations in bulk to charities on the last business day of each month rather than each individual transaction so that we can keep transaction costs down and reduce the administration work of us and other charities.

Is there a cost to a business to set this up?

There is no cost for a business to join Donorbees. If a business chooses, they may subsidise our administration cost of 10% of each donation, so that more will reach charities, but this is not compulsory.

Do charities receive the total donation I make as a Donor?

There is a 10% administration fee - if this is not paid in full or in part by employers then the residual is deducted from donations before they are paid to charities. We don't offer the option for a donor to pay this fee.

Are there any charities that Donorbees doesn't support?

All charities on our platform - either profiled or unprofiled have been fully vetted to ensure they comply with New Zealand Charities legislation and are active. We support only charities that are active in New Zealand (no funds sent overseas). We do not support churches, however we do support faith based charities.

What happens to my personal details as a donor?

All donations through Donorbees to charities are anonymous. We do not share any of your personal information with any charity.
